For hundreds of years, Japan was isolated from the remainder of the
world and, as a result, it developed a unique worldview.
Changes starting in the 19th century caused the Japanese worldview to change as well.
What was Japan like before the process of change began? What caused this change to happen? How was Japan different after the changes? Did some things stay the same?
