5.1 Verbs in ~MASHOU (~ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†) Form


~MASHOU (ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†) Form
The ~MASHOU (ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†) form is the LET'S form used for making suggestions. 

"Sushi wo tabemashou" means "Let's eat sushi."

Verb Stems
The part of the verb before the ~MASHOU (ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†) is the verb stem.

Formation of ~MASHOU (ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†) verbs

This part is easy!

From the ~ใพใ™ form, chop off the "ใพใ™" and then add "MASHOU" (ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†)

Step 1:  tabemasu (ใŸในใพใ™)

Step 2:  chop off "ใพใ™" -->  tabe (ใŸใน)

Step 3:  add "MASHOU" (ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†)  -->  tabemashouใ€€(ใŸในใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†)

The ~MASHOU (ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†) verb form does not need to have "Subject + ใฏ" at the beginning of the sentence because the "MASHOU" already indicates who is going to be doing the action. 

It's you and I who will be doing the action if it's agreed upon! 

ในใ‚“ใใ‚‡ใ†ใ—ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†ใ€‚ใ€€Benkyou shimashou!  Let's study!  

You can make a question out of the ~MASHOU (ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†) verb form by adding ใ‹ at the end.

This makes your question into "Shall we... ?"
