Discover: Super Sleuth

You have learned much about how to collect and analyze a large variety of evidence. Now, put that knowledge to work and demonstrate your skills.

Use your knowledge about evidence analysis to solve a crime! To do so, you will answer the following questions.

  • Who did the crime?
  • What happened, when, and why?
  • How did the crime happen?
  • Where did it happen?

Your task is to gather and analyze evidence to solve a mystery. After you have figured out the answers to these questions, you must present the evidence to prove who committed the crime. You need to think carefully about the evidence and how it leads you to your conclusion.

  1. Choose one of the following websites and work through the clues to solve the mystery that is presented.  (Note if one of the links does not work, try opening it in a different browser such as Firefox or Explorer).

    Hair Detectives

    CSI: Canine Sniffer Intelligence

The Case of the Barefoot Burglar

  2. Include...

    • descriptions of the evidence and observations from the crime scene
    • descriptions of how each piece of evidence was analyzed
    • the inferences you made from each piece of evidence
    • an explanation of how you decided who was guilty
