B. Problem Solving and Solving for n
When working on geometric sequence problems, solving for \(t_n\), \(r\), and \(t_1\), are relatively straight forward, but what about solving for \(n\)? Because \(n\) is an exponent, it can be a little more complicated. At this point in your math education, you have not been given the tools to solve for unknowns as exponents, other than by making the bases equal, or through guess and check. Example 1 models the guess and check method.
