The Cartesian Coordinate Plane

The Cartesian coordinate plane is a useful tool for analyzing and graphing functions of all types. Examine the figure below to review the parts of the plane.
Recall that when you plot points on the Cartesian coordinate plane, the \(x\)-coordinate is written before the \(y\)-coordinate, (\(x, y\)).
