Graphing Calculators

There are a wide variety of graphing calculators available to you. Please ensure you are using a graphing calculator that is approved for use in diploma examinations by checking online on Alberta Educationโ€™s General Information Bulletin, Using Calculators & Computers.

When using your graphing calculator to answer a question or verify a solution, you must provide the window settings you used. This ensures a thorough understanding of the material and also makes it easier for your teacher to give you helpful feedback. When writing the window settings, provide the following information:

Window Settings
XMin
XMax
XScale

YMin
YMax
YScale

If you have questions about how to use your calculator, please ask your teacher, but also please keep in mind that your teacher is not an expert on all brands. Teachers will do their best to assist you, but you may need to read through your ownerโ€™s manual for more specific information regarding your personal calculator.
For a guide on how to graph using the TI-83TM and TI-84TM calculator, please see the Calculator Guide.
