B. Vertex Form

In the previous section, the function given in the example was written in a particular format called the vertex form of a quadratic function.

The Vertex Form

A quadratic function written in vertex form is

\(f(x) = a(x - p)^2 + q \)

where \(a \), \(p \), and \(q \) are constants, and \(a \ne 0\).
