Stretching the Graph

Investigating how wide or narrow a graph becomes (known as stretch factors) is not looked at in-depth in Math 20-1, but notice that if \(a < −1 \) or \(a > 1 \), the graph becomes more narrow when compared to \(f(x) = x^2 \). If \(−1 < a < 1 \), the graph becomes wider when compared to \(f(x) = x^2 \).
