F. Sketching the Graph From Standard Form
Given the standard form of a quadratic function, the direction of opening and the \(x\)- and \(y\)-intercepts can be determined. A table of values can be used to determine other points to plot, but this will not guarantee that the vertex will be found. In order to determine the vertex without using technology, the quadratic function can be converted to vertex form by completing the square. Using the two forms together gives a better idea of what the graph of the function looks like.
