In the Warm Up, you solved equations to find the values of \(x\) that made the equations true. When given simple equations, as seen in the Warm Up, you can directly solve for \(x\). When the equation involves a quadratic with \(a \ne 0\) and \(b \ne 0\), solving for an unknown is a little bit more involved.

Fortunately, there are many ways to solve quadratic equations. In Lesson 2.4, you are going to look at various ways to solve quadratic equations.
