A. Radical Equations

The main difference between an expression and an equation is an equal sign. Equations have equal signs, whereas expressions do not.

In a way, you started working with radical equations in Unit 2 because when you solved for the roots of a quadratic equation, you had to take the square root of both sides of the equation. Recall that you had to take into consideration both positive and negative values when you took the square root of both sides of the equation.
