Multiplying Rational Expressions
Similar to multiplying fractions, multiplying rational expressions follows the rule, βtop times top; bottom times bottomβ. Continue to use the skills you learned in Lesson 5.1 for simplifying rational expressions by eliminating factors found in both the numerator and denominator. Remember that only factors can be eliminated. Also, you must identify any non-permissible values before eliminating any factors.
