Unit 6: Absolute Value and Reciprocal Functions

Suppose a woman visits a currency exchange where one Canadian dollar will buy 0.55 British pounds sterling. How many Canadian dollars will one British pound sterling buy? During an exchange, both the woman and the seller will gain some of one currency and lose some of another, but it is unlikely that either will use negative numbers to describe the exchange. Why is this?

In this unit, you will investigate absolute value and reciprocal functions, which can be applied to the previous scenario, as well as many others.
