Absolute Value Function
Completion requirements
An absolute value function is a function that includes the absolute value of a variable. For example, the functions \(y = \left| {3x} \right| + 1\) and \(y = \left| {3x + 1} \right|\) are absolute value functions, whereas \(y = 3x + \left| 1 \right|\) is not.
Like other functions, absolute value functions can be graphed to produce a visual representation. Three strategies for graphing an absolute value function are shown in this lesson.
