As you are reading, remember to pause and check for meaning to make sure you understand what you have read. Refer back to Lesson 2: Reading Biographies.

  1. Read the first paragraph of your story. What did you find out? Add any new predictions to your chart.
  2. Read the second paragraph of your story. Are any of your predictions coming true? Do you have any new predictions to add to your chart?
  3. Finish reading your story. Add any new connections to your chart. Were your predictions correct?

After you have finished reading your story and filling in your chart, answer the two questions at the bottom of the page:


  • What does this story tell you about respect?
  • How does this story connect to your own life?

Save

How to save a file:


  1. Scan the document to your computer.
  2. Have the file open and select Save As from the File menu.
  3. Name your Predictions Chart file in this format: jsmith_predictionschart and save the file to your Documents folder.
