Completion requirements
Unit 1
What Does it Mean to Show Respect?
Activity
Create Your Own Mural About Respect
For this activity, you are going to create your own mural about respect.
Choose one of the types of respect from your chart in the lesson, "What Is Respect?".
You can choose showing respect for yourself, respect for others, or respect for the environment.

Click each coloured row for information about the activity.
After you pick a type of respect, think about these questions:
- What story will you tell about respect for yourself, others, or your environment?
- Where will it take place?
- What time period will you depict?
- Who will you depict in your image(s)? (people and animals)
- What items will be important in your image(s)? (shapes and symbols)
- What colours will you use?
- What words could you use in your mural or to describe your mural?
- Will your mural be one big picture or several smaller pictures?
The answers to these questions will help you create your mural. To help you organize your thoughts, fill in the Planning Organizer on Assignment 1-3 with your answers to the questions above. If you have not already downloaded the worksheet, download it below.
