The Writing Process
Open the Reference Poster: The Writing Process and take a look at the Rethink and Revise box. Think about how revision fits into the writing process.
Revision is about:
- rereading and reviewing a piece of writing to identify elements that need improvement
- using feedback from the teacher and peers
- making changes and adjustments to improve the content, clarity and interest of written work
It requires you to think reflectively about the piece of writing.

Some tips you can use when revising your writing include:

- read a section to someone else for suggestions
- use arrows and symbols to rearrange ideas
- use a coloured pen to add specific vocabulary or details
OR if you are using a word processor
- change the font colour to add specific details or vocabulary
- use the copy, cut, and paste function to move things around
- use the highlight function if you are unsure about some information
