You know that in order to have a healthy body, your organs and body systems must remain healthy. Different body organs work together (like the heart and lungs) to create body systems.
The next selection shows magnified images of parts of a body. The close-up images you will be viewing are of "hidden worlds" in the human body.

It is time for a little bit of fun with adjectives! To practise with adjectives, go to one of the following websites:

In the Before Reading section of the Reader's Notebook: Hidden Worlds Magnified, make a close up sketch of a body part.
Focus on a small area of the body, like a fingernail, a mole or a birthmark, pretending that you are looking through a magnifying glass. Use a magnifying glass if you have one.

Reader's Notebook
- Your task is to choose the photograph that drew the strongest response from you and write a journal entry (in the After Reading section of the Reader's Notebook: Hidden Worlds Magnified) about what the magnified image made you think about and how it made you feel.
- Remember a magnified image gives great detail, focuses on a small area, enlarges the subject.
- Your journal entry should be at least three sentences in length have strong, appropriate adjectives in each sentence.
