Moodle Forum Post—Selfie Plausibility

Step 1:  First, read Tyrone’s sample Moodle Forum Post. 

NOTE:  Tyrone chose option 2 but wrote on a character from the short story “Garson.”  You must write about a character from Selfie.

Step 2:  Review assignment option 1 and option 2.  Make your selection, if you haven’t already.

Step 3:  Write your paragraph response.  Be sure you have a copy of the play nearby, so you can cite quotations, details, and page numbers.

Step 4:  Re-read and proofread your response. 

• Be sure you have included all of the required components of the assignment (review the assignment page).
  
  
• Check your spelling, punctuation, grammar, and capitalization.  (Remember, titles of longer texts such as plays are italicized.  First, last, and all important words in a title are capitalized.)

Step 5:  Submit your paragraph to the Moodle Forum discussion board.

1. Locate the Moodle Forum on the top navigation bar under Communication.  Select Forum and scroll to the thread called Selfie Plausibility.  Post your paragraph there.
   
   
2. Respond to the post before yours and after yours. 

• Aim for a three to five-sentence comment for each of the two classmates’ paragraphs.
  
  
• Write at least one specific positive comment and one specific constructive criticism for each classmate’s paragraph.

A sample response to Tyrone’s post might be: (positive comments) Tyrone, your paragraph is really strong.  It has lots of good textual evidence from the story with page numbers included.  You also included specific details about your own life to show how you connected to the character.  I thought that was really powerful.  (constructive criticism) Maybe just be careful not to use slang phrases like “super cute” or “pretty” as in “pretty sweet” or “pretty plausible.”  Otherwise, it’s a great response!

NOTE:  To be eligible to write your English 30-2 exams, you must complete all assignments, quizzes, and Moodle Forum posts.
