How Can Someone Make a Difference?

Lesson 1

You usually know when someone is not treating you fairly, but how do you know what fair treatment is?


In sports a level playing field is a concept about fairness. It does not mean that each player has an equal chance to succeed, but that all players play by the same set of rules. For example in a soccer game, one team would have an unfair advantage if the field had a slope toward one goal and not the other.

Lady Justice carries scales to show she is weighing what is fair. A blindfold shows she is unbiased. The sword shows her authority.

Save

How to save a file for submission:

  1. Have the file open and select Save As from the File menu.
  2. Select your Documents folder as the location to Save In.
  3. Name the document. You will always name your documents in a similar way.
      • Use the first letter of your first name, followed by your last name, then an underscore (_), then the name of the file.
      • In this case, the file name is LA 6-Assignment 2-1. For example, if my name is John Smith, I would name my file jsmith_frayerla6_2-1-fair.

  4. Click Save. Your chart is in your Documents folder.

Submit your file to the teacher:

  1. The submission of your completed worksheet is an opportunity for summative assessment by your teacher.
  2. The assignment sheet 2-1 you submit is for marks.
  3.  When you have completed the entire worksheet, you will submit it to your teacher.
  4. Click on the Add Submission button at the end of the lesson to upload your document.
