Unit 2

How Can Someone Make a Difference?

Activity

Kim Kilpatrick: Aiming for Equality

Can one person make a difference?

In this selection, you will review what you know about biographies and what they might contain.

You will then practise the reading strategies of predicting, pause and check, and connecting as you read.  If you need help remembering what these are, review page 9 in your textbook. When done, you will have the opportunity to think about these strategies and how they help you to understand what you are reading.

Click each coloured row for information about the activity.

In your last lesson, you took some time to recall biographies you have read and made a list of what biographies might contain in your Reader's Notebook: Biography Ideas, which you saved in your Documents folder. Review your list.
