Writing a Friendly Letter

In the story that you just read, Laura is writing letters to her new penpal, Malcolm.

These types of letters are called "Friendly Letters" because they are typically an exchange between friends.


Now that you have finished the story, you will have completed your character traits web for Laura.
You do not need to submit this to your teacher. 
However, you will use this information for ideas to write a letter to Malcolm from Laura's point of view.

Reflect on the story and answer the last three questions under Reflect on Reading in the previously saved Readerโ€™s Notebook: Private and Confidential page.


Open

Open Your File

Go to your Documents folder and open your Readerโ€™s Notebook: Private and Confidential that you have saved there.

Reflect on the story Private and Confidential and answer the last three questions under Reflect on Reading in this previously saved Readerโ€™s Notebook.

Remember to save your work!

How to save a file:


  1. Have the file open and select Save As from the File menu.
  2. Name your Reader's Notebook: Private and Confidential file in this format: jsmith_privateandconfidential and save the file to your Documents folder.
