Make Your Own Drain Cover

Have fun designing your own drain cover.

Write your answers to these questions:

  1. Will you create your drain cover on paper or on your computer?
  2. What theme will you use?
  3. Can you connect your drain cover to the Big Question (How do people show they care about saving habitats?)
  4. Can you help people understand something about saving habitats with your drain cover?

Remember to include words that describe it, perhaps by finishing one of these sentences:

  • The theme of my drain cover is...
  • I included these images because...
  • I think my drain cover will make people think about...
  • My drain cover will help people think about saving habitats because...

Go back to your Saving Habitat Chart. What were some ways people have worked to save habitats? Can you use one of them as your theme for the drain cover?

Save

How to save a file:

  1. Have the file open and select Save As from the File menu.
  2. Name your Drain Cover file in this format: jsmith_draincover and save the file to your Documents folder.
  1. This worksheet is similar to homework, which is an opportunity to practise important concepts in the lesson. The worksheet is NOT for marks.
  2. However, your teacher may ask you to submit this worksheet to check on your progress so be sure to save it in your Documents folder.
