Sea Otter Inlet / Solomon's Tree

You will make a choice today of two stories:


  • Sea Otter Inlet on pages 156 to 165 in Literacy in Action 4A.

    • Sea Otter Inlet is about what happened in an inlet after most of the sea otters were killed by hunters.

  • Solomon’s Tree on pages 166 to 175 in Literacy in Action 4A.

    • Solomon’s Tree is about a boy who loved a tree near his home. After it was knocked down in a storm, his family worked to make a mask from the tree for the boy.

Remember to use your reading strategies – prediction, inference, use what you know, and decide what’s important as you read either selection.

Of course you may read both stories if you would like.
