What do kids like to do?

Lesson 4

Reader's Notebook

Reflect On Your Reading

Reading strategies you practised in the last lesson are listed on page 16 in Literacy in Action 4B:

  • use what you know – using information you already know about the topic to predict what might happen in a story
  • visualize – sketching action that is happening in the story
  • synthesize – recording important facts and finding similarities in several articles

Consider how these reading strategies helped you understand information about different kinds of hobbies and summer camps. Write a few sentences about how one of these reading strategies helped you understand the selection.
