Training Room 1: Defining Health and Wellness
Dimensions of Health and Wellness
One way to describe health and wellness is to refer to the dimensions of wellness. The dimensions represent different influences on your total health and well-being, including physical, psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual aspects. The dimensions are interdependent—they are constantly interacting with each other.
There are many versions of a wellness wheel. Explore this interactive Wellness Wheel.
Self-Quiz
Develop a self-quiz for assessing personal wellness. Follow these guidelines:
- Your quiz should have at least ten questions and should allow participants to assess their wellness according to dimensions of wellness.
- You may or may not choose to use the same dimensions of wellness that were described above. You can use the questions in the interactive Wellness Wheel as a guideline.
- Your questions may be similar to the ones in the interactive Wellness Wheel, but you should use your own words and ideas.
- The self-quiz should lead to understanding of what makes up wellness.
There are many ways you could create your quiz. Check out Self-Quiz Sample.
Save your self-quiz in your course folder. You will need your quiz to complete Training Room 1 Project.
After you develop your quiz, answer the questions yourself to start formulating your own definition of wellness.
