Mathematics 20-3 Module 5

Module 5 Summary

In Section 1 you explored representing three-dimensional objects using two-dimensional drawings. These drawings included views from the front, side, and top, and also sketches on isometric dot paper.

Section 2 involved perspective and scale. Solutions to problems involving scale diagrams and models involved proportional reasoning. You also created, to scale, three-dimensional models.

The top drawing is of a box that has been drawn using one-point perspective. The bottom drawing is of a box that has been drawn using two-point perspective.

In Section 3 you investigated exploded-view diagrams. These diagrams assisted you in assembling your project model.

This is an exploded view of a standing fan.

In this module you investigated the following question:

How is 3-D object design represented in multiple ways with and without the use of scale?
