Course work for Social Studies 30-2 consists of numerous assignments in various formats. Assignments, Forums and Unit Reviews will automatically open as you proceed through the course and complete the preceding
required elements. The assignments you are given have several purposes:

Self-Quizzes: Appearing as multiple-choice Moodle Quizzes, these are scored immediately by the computer and you can see your results in the quiz area. The self-quizzes are not for
marks. To help you prepare for the Social 30-2 Diploma Exam, the multiple-choice questions are similar to the questions you will see on the diploma exam.

Unit Review Exams: A review quiz occurs at the end of each unit and will open automatically when you have completed all the unit readings, forums, and assignments. The unit reviews are for marks. Appearing as multiple-choice

Forum Postings: You are expected to complete several topic postings during the course. As you read course content material, the forum posting will open automatically. Be sure to answer the required postings thoughtfully. Each
posting is graded according to a rubric. Each posting should be about one paragraph of 75 to 200 words.

Exams: There are two exams in this course. The Midterm Exam is based on Units 1 to 4, and the Final Exam is based on Units 5 to 8. Each exam is divided into two parts. Part A has 25 multiple choice questions, and Part B Written Responses have a source based question, a citizens question and a terminology written response.

Diploma Exam, the Midterm and Final Exams are similar to the questions you will see on the Diploma Exam. Both the Midterm and Final Exams are supervised and secured exams. You will need to arrange to write the exams with your school supervisor.
Please contact your lead teacher with any questions you may have on writing the exam. Exams are not released to your supervisor until all required You are required assignments have been completed and graded.

Social 30-2 Midterm Exam

You may write the Midterm exam only after you have completed all the course work in Units 1-4. All assignments, discussions and unit review quizzes must be completed and graded before the exam
is released.

If you score less than 40% on your Midterm exam, you can choose to write the Midterm Exam Appeal or take that mark as your mark for Units 1-4.

The exam consists of 25 multiple choice and 3 paragraph style written response questions.

You may write the Final exam only after you have completed all the course work in Units 5 to 8. All assignments, discussions and unit review quizzes must be completed and graded before the exam is released.

If your score on the Final Exam is less than 40%, you must write the Final Exam Appeal. if you score less than 40% on the Final Exam Appeal, this score becomes your mark for Units 5-8.

The Final exam consists of 25 multiple choice and 3 paragraph style written response questions.

The Final exam is worth 20% of your final mark.

The Final exam may be online or print.

Exams must be written under the supervision of an approved supervisor. Contact your teacher.
