  • The perimeter of a shape is the linear distance around the shape.
  • Perimeter is calculated by adding the lengths of all sides.
  • Circumference is a special term for the perimeter of a circle.
  • Circumference is calculated with the formula: C = Ï€d or C = 2Ï€r.
  • Linear measurement is used to control the size of luggage for air travel. To calculate linear measurement, add the length, width and height of the suitcase.
