Key Ideas
- The perimeter of a shape is the linear distance around the shape.
- Perimeter is calculated by adding the lengths of all sides.
- Circumference is a special term for the perimeter of a circle.
- Circumference is calculated with the formula: C = πd or C = 2πr.
- Linear measurement is used to control the size of luggage for air travel. To calculate linear measurement, add the length, width and height of the suitcase.
