Go to pages 28 to 31 of Literacy in Action 5.
- Look at pages 28 and 29 of Literacy in Action 5. Read the text on the left side of page 28. The mural on these two pages was created to celebrate children who have been affected by war.
- Turn to pages 30 and 31. Read the text on the left side of page 30. This mural was created by Winnipeg artist to show a family and eagle. You can learn more about Winnipeg murals here.
- Turn to pages 32 and 33. Read the text on the right side of page 33.
- Read the brochure depicting the murals in Stony Plain, Alberta here. Read the Reader's Digest article about a mural in Legal, Alberta here. Learn more about Canada 150 mosaics here.
- After you have spent a few minutes viewing these five murals, answer the questions on the Reader's Notebook: 1-3 Respect Mural.
