For this assignment, you will be applying many of the skills you learned in Unit 2:
- writing a literary exploration essay
- creating sentence fluency in your writing
- using the I.C.E. Method to Incorporate Evidence into Your Writing
Essential Questions (choose one)
- What are the benefits to ourselves, or to those around us, in using our skills and talents?
- In what way can a person change the course of his or her life through a single action?
Requirements
- Choose at least one character from the novel you studied for Unit 2.
- The second character can be from your novel or from any short story you studied in Unit 2.
- You must include evidence from the text (including quotations with page numbers) to support your ideas.
- You must organize your essay in the following way:
- introduction paragraph
- body paragraph 1: character who demonstrates the essential question in a positive way
- body paragraph 2: character who demonstrates the essential question in a negative way
- body paragraph 3: compare the outcomes of each characterβs life in light of their positive or negative response to the essential question
- conclusion paragraph
