As you read through this unit, keep the Big Question in mind.
While reading each selection, keep asking yourself, "Why is this funny? What has the author done to make me laugh?"

Open Literacy in Action 4B to the beginning of Unit 5 on page 62 & 63.
You'll see some kids who have just heard or read something really funny.
They'll make you ROFL. (Read the last entry in the word box on page 63 to find out what ROFL means.)
Read all the words in the vocabulary box. These are all words we associate with humour. Look them up in the Dictionary to be sure you know what they mean.
