Unit 1
How Am I Influenced by Images?
Lesson 7
Reader's Notebook
Giving Credit
This selection is about opening credits in a TV show, and how the designer creates them in order to capture your interest. Opening credits usually take less than 30 seconds, so the designers are very careful with their work.

Click each coloured row for information about the activity.
In this selection, on pages 78 to 83 of Literacy in Action, you will learn how an opening credit sequence is created, and about the creative directors who work behind the scenes. Notice the storyboard format the designer is
using.
A storyboard uses panels, images laid out in borders on the left hand side of the chart.
Frames are the edges and borders or the chart that contains images.
Layout shows how the story progresses. Images are grouped in order beginning with number one from beginning, to middle, to end of the story. They show the order in which images should be viewed.
