Make a choice of one piece of literature on the 'Readings' tab. Use the worksheet provided to do a close-reading of your chosen text.

  Read one of the following pieces of literature for this assignment. Use a close reading worksheet (next tab) while reading.
  • "First Kiss-First Lesson", a short memoir by Jennifer Braunschweiger, Between the Lines 11 , p. 271 to 275

  • "My Father Had Been Drinking", a monologue by William S. Pollack and Todd Shuster, Between the Lines 11 , p. 337-338

  • "In a Split-Second" , a short story by Bjorn McDaddee

  • "The Cure for Adam" , a short story by Bjorn McDaddee

  • "A Day in the Life of Shane " a collection of blogs by "Shane."

Use the following worksheet to do a close reading of the text. This activity is a recommended activity to help with Assignment 3.1, but will not be marked.
