Below you will find an outline of what to expect on the Japanese 10 Final Exam. Each section will have a link back to the Course Unit where the concepts were first introduced.

Language Systems
You will be asked to explain the three Japanese language systems in detail (what are they, when are they used, what are the visual characteristics of each, etc).
γ²γγγͺ Chart
You must be able to write out the entire γ²γγγͺ chart in the correct order.
For example, which line comes after the γ line? Which line comes after the γ line?
Remember the sentence you came up with to help memorize the chart order? That will help you in this section!
Obviously you must be able to read all the γ²γγγͺ chart characters as well as the Special Sounds.

γγγ Characters
You must be able to read and write the Essential Kanji characters such as numbers and days of the week, months and telling time.
You will also be required to read and recognize the Recognizable Kanji characters listed here.

Humble vs Honorific
You must be able to discuss the difference between humble and honorific family terms (which terms are humble, which terms are honorific, when to use which term, etc).
Verb Forms
You will be asked to write sentences using all the verb forms we have learned in this course. ~γΎγ (γ and γ verbs as well as the Irregular verbs)γ ~γΎγγγ~γΎγγγ ~γΎγγγ§γγγ ~γΎγγγγο½γγ.
Make sure you know what each form represents (present tense, future tense, present negative tense, past tense, past negative, etc).

Verb Definitions
You will be asked to match the γγγ words with the correct ζ₯ζ¬θͺ for the verb meanings.

You will be asked to write sentences describing nouns using γ adjectives in the positive and negative forms.
Particles and Conjunctions
You must know the uses for the particles γ¨γγγγ§γγ« and the conjunctions γγγ¦γγγγγγγ§γ.
You will be given sentences with blank spaces in them and you will be asked to put the appropriate particle into each sentence.

In the Written Composition section, you will write about yourself as though you are talking to a new friend who knows nothing about you.
You will talk about things you do, things you don't do, things you like and things you dislike, etc.
You will also tell your new friend about people in your family and you will ask them some questions about themselves.
